Perhaps a Caravaggio of social denunciation, it is through his many works as a Muralist that Giulio Aristide Sartorio (1860-1932), created his Artistic Legacy. His entire frieze for the new Parliament room, developed a new language, which visually combined Michelangelo’s classicism, to veer into contemporaneity, with his unmistakable symbolism, which read into early yet the distinctive signs that were to lead Italy from this Land of Sensuous Aestheticism to a more Industrious change, which was expected to lead to its progress.

I hate that the “just a phase” thing makes us so afraid of trying new things. Go through phases! Discover yourself! Change every day! It’s okay if something doesn’t last forever. It makes me so angry that other people want to invalidate others’ experiences just because they decided it wasn’t for them in the end.
